Plans for a new “skyscraper” office tower in the City of London have been submitted which if given approval would be the tallest in the City.
Singaporean developer Aroland Holdings is proposing to develop a 73 storey tower located at 1 Undershaft, EC3 which would soar to an impressive height of 1,015 ft, just shy of the Shard’s height of 1,038ft and creating 970,000 sq ft of offices. A new public square, viewing gallery and restaurant also form part of the plans.
The proposed building will be 80m taller than the Cheesegrater. It will be the latest in an astonishing line up of trophy buildings in this area of EC3 bordering EC2 including Axa's 22 Bishopsgate, Mitsubishi's 6-8 Bishopsgate and TIAA Henderson's 40 Leadenhall Street.
The site is currently occupied by the Aviva Tower with a planning decision expected in Summer 2016.
