Significant news is reported in the latest Property Week on a re-design and value engineering project for development manager Arab Investments' 1m sq ft tower in prime Bishopsgate spanning the City's finance and insurance markets.
Architect Kohn Pedersen Fox is preparing its new proposal to replace the tower presently known as "The Helter Skelter". A similar re-design was the precursor for the construction of 20 Fenchurch Street by Land Securities/Canary Wharf, now half pre-let, and will be welcomed to replace the part complete core nicknamed "The Stump".
The present building is currently 288 metres tall and any re-design is likely to retain the cachet of being London's tallest building.
