A consortium of developers led by AXA Real Estate advised by Lipton Rodgers has announced details of its re-designed proposals for the pinnacle development including re-branding as “22 Bishopsgate”.
The tower scheme designed by PLP Architects will offer 1.4 million sq ft of offices over 62 floors. At 912 ft, the building , though 33 ft lower than the previous proposal, will still set a new benchmark height for City “skyscrapers”.
The build is projected for completion by 2018. It will compete directly with Mitsubishi’s 42 storey 6-8 Bishopsgate and schemes such as Brookfield’s 100 Bishopsgate and TIAA Henderson’s 40 Leadenhall Street over (a mere!) 40 storeys.
22 Bishopsgate spans the heart of the City’s traditional financial and insurance markets.
A public exhibition is being held on the site during the third week of June.
