Leading consumer finance provider, NewDay, advised by Newton Perkins has exchanged on a lease to fit out and occupy over 30,000 sq ft in the Grade II listed Midland Goods Shed, part of Argent’s burgeoning 3m sq ft kings Cross development.
The building originally built in 1850 was originally projected to be occupied by The Guardian who surrendered their lease simultaneous to the grant of the new lease to NewDay. The deal was exchanged within 20 working days of agreement of terms reflecting the focus of the NewDay and Argent teams.
Newton Perkins also negotiated a simultaneous surrender of NewDay’s 16,000 sq ft floor in 2 Pancras Square to de-risk the clients property exposure.
The transaction is one of the larger post-Brexit leasing deals in the London office market.
Newton Perkins’ David Alcock advised, whilst Mark de Roeper provided lease consultancy and rating advice.
