Land Securities, the UK's largest REIT, is in talks to buy 21 Moorfields, EC2 which was formerly the home of investment bank Lazard. It is a large and complex redevelopment opportunity situated above Moorgate station. The completion of Crossrail by 2018 has led to various schemes being proposed, varying in size from 430,000 to 600,000 square feet.
The freehold is currently owned by London Underground, and the site is surrounded by Moorfields, Fore Street Avenue, Moor Lane and New Union Street.
