Newton Perkins was instructed to act on behalf of three tenants within this modern Grade A office accommodation located close to Lloyds.
Representations were made to the Valuation Officer for the City of London on behalf of our clients but the Valuation Officer refused to offer any reduction in the levels of assessment because another floor in the building had been previously agreed by another firm of surveyors.
Despite this, we were satisfied that the rental evidence available from the building supported a lower basis of assessment and they matter was referred to the Central London Valuation Tribunal for determination.
Newton Perkins prepared the evidence and submissions to the Valuation Tribunal and appeared on behalf of our clients where we were successful in reducing the levels of assessment by 16.8% for the original levels.
This led to substantial savings to our clients over the five year life of the Rating List concerned.
