Roughly covering the northeast of the City, EC2 is home to towering office blocks, financial institutions, and the culturally rich Barbican Centre. It is the corner of London where culture and finance collide. The prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and the Bank of England, have both made this space their home. It is also the location of the Barbican Estate, which features the three Barbican Towers, the tallest residential properties in London.
But at just over 400ft, the Barbican Towers are dwarfed by the neighbouring City skyscrapers. For those who enjoy a view over the City, the Heron Tower, Broadgate Tower and Tower 42 all provide high-rise office space in EC2. For a less lofty working environment, there are plenty of commercial properties comprising of just a few floors.
Moving clockwise, starting at the North, the postcode is bordered by: Old Street; Bishopgate; Cheapside, Poultry and Threadneedle Street; and Aldersgate.
Offices in EC2 are well situated for access to the rest of the City, and benefit from good transport links to the rest of the UK, via Liverpool Street and Moorgate. For client or employee entertainment, there are plenty of local restaurants, and London’s West End is just a short taxi or Underground ride away.
