Moorgate is a major street in the City of London. Located in the EC2 postal district and connecting the City to the London Boroughs of Islington and Hackney, it starts at the Bank of England area.
The Moorgate area is known today as a locality that provides office space for financial firms, with many investment banks sited there. Both modern and traditional office buildings are situated on Moorgate. Moorgate station provides access to London Underground services and mainline services.
The Guildhall (home to the City Corporation) is nearby and the locality is well known for modern office developments such as Moor House, a 312,000 sq ft building located at the north end of the financial district. Finsbury Circus is the City of London’s largest open space and branches east out of Moorgate. It is currently being used to facilitate the ongoing construction for Crossrail.
